No cheers for the pubs then Darling?
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008In his Pre-Budget Statement yesterday Alistair Darling temporary lowered the VAT rate by 2.5% but offset by raising the duty on alcohol to cover it.
This despite pubs which are an important part of England’s heritage closing at a record levels, would of welcomed lower prices that they could charge their customers.
Mind you I don’t think he cares with his subsidized bar in the Houses of Parliament.
